SAIKU CULTURAL ART FESTIVAL 2024

On the night of the full moon, I will visit the shrine with Saio. After making hemp amulets for purification, the chief priest will officially visit the shrine with Saio. After that, we enjoy a meal as a direct meeting at Heian no Mori.

This is a craft experience to learn about the idea of the twelve “colors” worn by the Japanese princess “Saio,” who once lived in Saiku, and the “hemp” associated with the god “Changhaku Hajime” of Take-jinja Shrine. The work I created will be part of Take-jinja Shrine's installation art. It includes an official visit to Take-jinja Shrine and a meal as a direct meeting.

We offer Japanese snacks (finger food) using gorgeous projection mapping images, such as digital animations with motifs of culture and art related to the Imperial Palace, such as “Saio Gunkyo Emaki,” “The Tale of Genji Emaki,” “The Tale of Genji Emaki,” and “12 dan,” to the main hall, Higashiwakiden, and Nishiwakiden of the full-scale Heian Restored Building at the national historic site Saiku Ruins, while enjoying gorgeous projection mapping images such as “Saio Gunkyo Emaki,” “The Tale of Genji Emaki,” and “12 dan.”

On the day of the full moon, we will hold a costume procession event where demons and specters walk around historic sites. Anyone can participate at a fee. This is a participatory event where you can enjoy kimono cosplay and live yokai painting by yokai artists. In addition, you can enjoy many activities with the theme of demons and monsters.

"Nishiwakiden at Saiku Heian Era Park”, a special venue and not usually available for dining, will be rented out for a dinner inspired by the Heian Period by a Michelin-starred chef. You can enjoy the live Noh flute or koto and “Matsusaka" beef.
