11/23 (Iga Kumihimo), 11/30 (Ise Netsuke), and 12/7 (Ise Katagami) are all about 13:30 to 2.5 hours

For a limited time, there will be a special exhibition of creative works by female artists active in Japan (ceramics, sculpture, glass crafts, Ise Netsuke, Ise katagami, Iga Kumihimo, lacquer painting, etc.) that would be nice to have excavated items like this at the phantom Tosai-gu Shrine. Includes a special explanation of the regular exhibitions at the Saiku Historical Museum.

“How to make the best stencil-dyed cards to carve and dye”

The demon exorcism ceremony called Tsuina (tsuna), which was performed at the end of the year in the Imperial Court during the Heian period is regarded as the root of Setsubun.

In this experience, you will carve a pattern related to the chase with your own Ise pattern on a clean Japanese paper card (using Mino washi) and make the strongest card just for you to wish for peace in the new year.

You can also freely mix and dye patterns made by craftsmen.

※Take home the engraved pattern and finished product.

Stencil carving is for 4th graders and above. Third year elementary school students and under can participate even if they are just doing stencil dyeing.

The use of cutlery is basically for middle school students and above, but you can experience it if accompanied and authorized by a parent or guardian.

Advance preparation is required for those who do not use cutlery.

Cutlery can be fraught with injury. Please let us know in advance so that you are aware of it before experiencing it. The desk will turn white with polishing powder, so it is safe to hang a sheet or the like on it.
